Guess Sweaters - The Sweater Dress

In our last article, we talk about the most sought out Guess sweaters style – the V-neck. In this article, we are going to talk about another Guess sweaters style – the sweater dress. I can say that this is my favorite among all styles. The thing I love about sweater dresses is that they're so cute and mysteriously add a sexy look to every woman who wears it (even though it shows little skin only as it is a sweater). I have to admit that I often can't stop looking at women who wear these trendy long Guess sweaters and wants to own every single one of it. It's a gorgeous look.

They are available in various styles so it's up to you what type of statement you want to create. You can go black from top to toe for a sleek and sophisticated look, or create a casual outfit with an oversized boho sweater and wide belt around the middle. One common benefit with a long dress is that you can put them on and look stylish everywhere, whether it be at work, school, going shopping, on a date, etc. And the huge plus is definitely the hosiery-thing (fashion tights are super-hot for Fall/Winter) combined with trendy boots.

How to Look Chic in a Guess Sweaters Dress

Determine Your Body Type - This is the number 1 crucial factor to looking fabulous in a sweater dress. Determine your body shape and decide what cut, design and length will bring out the best in your figure and minimize the parts you don't like. Like for example if your bottom is fuller compared to your upper half then you should go for dresses with details that visually widen or draws the eye up from your curves - however you can also fix it by adding a pair of sassy chandelier earrings or/and putting on some red lipstick. The point here is to balance out your body shape, to create a streamlined silhouette.

Determine The Length - The ideal length is above the knee to show more leg and help you look lean. It's also chic, and looks less frumpy. You won't find many long sweaters at calf length, but if you do then avoid them if you're petite (5'4" or shorter) because they swamp you up and look shorter and wider. Stick to anything above your knee.

Determine The Details and Prints

I find solid sweater dresses the most stylish because they're so versatile and leave room for my scarves and other accessories. However, there are some prints and details that work but they need to be neutral and placed on the right places of the body to maintain a proportional silhouette. Petites have less canvas to work on and can easily look swamped with prints and details - however if you can find a long sweater with vertical shaped interest (helps draw the eye up and down) then feel free to experiment with it. Think pleats, subtle knit rib texture, zipper details, and so on.
